My best things.
Journey Data Logger.
For fun factor it has to be the pen drive GPS datalogger. It’s like a chunky sized USB memory stick.
This small device fits easily in a top or breast pocket of a motorcycling jacket, car door pocket etc and
does require site of the sky, basically like a sat nav. This device logs your movements and the
supplied software plots your routes, speeds and altitude which you can export to Google maps and do
a fly through of your journey. Cheaper and more reliable than an iPhone with app but it does not make
calls!!

Amazon. Can also be used in conjunction with a digital camera which then allows you to accurately
place your photos on a map, just make sure the camera time and date are in synch with the
datalogger.
Canon S90 and 7D Digital Cameras
The S90 is a great compact travel camera. Fits neatly in a pocket, very well put together,
battery charge lasts ages, easy to use and produces cracking photos for a compact.
The 7D is the best DSLR I have used (although I have not used the top end professional
ones). It is an excellent all rounder and the best camera I have for motorsports pictures.
Mobile phones.
The best phone I have ever used and still use is an old(ish) Sony Ericsson W810i. Its got
proper keys, a display you can read under most conditions, great MP3 quality and bluetooth
that works with everything I have tried with it. It’s been dropped, got wet and used a lot. It’s
still going strong.
Useful things
My list of things tested.
This could be the latest gadget,
not many during my period of
unemployment, bits for the bikes,
home or whatever.
These write ups are not meant to
be test or review articles, you can
get excellent reviews of these
things on the web, but just my
review based on personal use.
